O'right Shampoo bottle
Design Process: Material acquirement → Producing & manufacturing → Transportation → Consumer usage → Recycled Processing

O'right Shampoo bottle "Tree in a Bottle" is a green concept design proposed to Oright in 2010 by PIDC. (Not including appearance design). The main material of the containers is PLA, which could be decomposed after using. Furthermore, Oright put seed inside the bottle to symbolize the continuation of product life cycle.

In 2017, PIDC team up with Hwa Meei Optical, together have launched fist Ocean Debris Sunglasses in Taiwan, after multiple material quality testing, adjusting and design discussion.

Sustainable Material Library
The Sustainable Materials Library (SML) was established by the Plastic Industry Development Center in 2020. From a material life cycle perspectives, SML considers the material that polluting the environment, the consumption of energy/resources, and difficulty in recycling etc., and further select and sort into seven different types of materials, such as plastics, fibers, rubbers, metals, minerals, natural materials and others. Through the SML platform, the designers can look, touch and feel the special features of each material, also the developers in materials can grasp the information of market demands.
